Values

Thaler Pekar & Partners Core Values:

  • We work to the highest quality and ethical standards.
  • We believe that communication is more than transactional: communication can be transformative.
  • We are one team, working toward a common goal: that every engagement advances both the practice and clout of our client and our firm, and that every engagement delights both you and us.
  • We work only with clients who are smart, passionate, and energetic.

Here is one success story:

I had been asked to speak to a gathering of start-ups, and prepared an extensive deck of slides detailing how my company, Empire Interpreting Service, had grown to an over $2 million a year enterprise. Then, I heard Thaler speak, threw out most of the existing content, and decided to fully focus on one goal for the keynote – inspiring the entrepreneurs to grow their businesses into multi-million dollar enterprises.

I heard Thaler: tell a story. Heck, I told five short stories. For the first time ever, I let people know where I come from and why I do what I do. The response was amazing. Audience members cried. I had a new perspective on how to reach people!

Within a month, I started a blog to put a real personal face on my company. As a result, my interpreters better relate to me: on a daily basis, it’s difficult for over 300 subcontractors to know my priorities and expectations– the blog really helps. It also helps me reflect on where I’ve been, what my original vision for the business was, and how that’s been redefined. Now, my staff has greater respect for the struggles to get where we are.

Sharing stories isn’t easy for me; it’s not my natural style. But it makes a big difference in how people perceive me and my business, and audiences now find me and my staff much more approachable. We’ve increased revenue as a result. One new client told me she had avoided using us due to the costs, however now she understood we offered extremely high quality and high ethical services that are well worth the investment. It’s what makes us human that makes people connect – and respond. — Theresa Slater, CEO, Empire Interpreting Service

  • "Jay is the coolest. I love the way he presents. Thaler is smart as a whip. I can't wait to hear what comes out of her mouth next. • "I found several things from your workshop directly applicable to my recent presentation to my board, and all grants were approved, so it was a big success. Our board chair even applauded after my presentation – a first! Thank you so much for your wisdom and guidance." – Denise Joines, Program Officer, Wilburforce Foundation

  • The true testament of a retreat or conference is whether you take something away and actually implement it. In your case, I'd say a resounding yes. I know I will use what I learned personally, with my staff and when I re-do my web site." -- Maryann Donovan, President, Impact Personnel, Inc.

  • "Thaler is a communications genius with an insanely great ability to see 'through' a problem or challenge and create a story-based communications strategy to tackle the issue. She is fun to work with and obviously bright but not ego driven. It has been a privilege to work with her each time we have hired her. What I love most about her is that much of what she does is value-driven." – George Heindrichs, Former President and CEO, Intrado
